I'm taking IGCSE History (CIE) in Oct/Nov (yes, now). I'm quite confident about knowledge and facts but doubtful about how to answer some questions. In my mock exam (Paper 4, Alt. to Coursework based on my depth study, Germany) I was asked "How important was violence for Hitler's rise to power in 1933?" or something similar.

I wrote three paragraphs. One showing that it was very important and another one showing it was not, and then a final balanced conclusion. IS THIS OK? SHOULD I TAKE A POSITION OR DISCUSS BOTH SIDES (Important and not important)??? Moreover, what is the recommended number of words I should write? I wrote 500 words in my exam, idk if that's too much (it was a 40 points question).
