Choose: your mom or your dad?

Im watching the breakfast club and one of the characters asks this girl whether she loves her dad or her mom more.

This got me thinking about whose death I would be more affected by... and without a doubt it's my mom. I just cant even think about it. I feel like thats how most people feel. My mom always told me that she was a lot more affected by her mothers death than her fathers and she doesnt know why because she was equally as close to them. I feel the same way, I was both a mommys girl and a daddys girl and I wouldnt say Im closer to my mom than my dad but somehow I still feel this way.

Thoughts?

I'd be equally as upset if one of my parents died, god forbid..

Haha im watching it because of that thread.
Mum. My dad's done his job, raised me as a man, don't see much of him these days and don't really need him any more, if I need man-to-man advice I've got close mates for that. Whereas a bloke could always do with a bit of motherly love here and there.

I had no idea members of TSR could be so easily swayed by a thread.

Maybe I should make one, but more sinister.

Dad was abusive, so mum. No hesitation there.
My mum.
Not sure about this. I haven't seen/spoken to my father in 4 years and he was a jerk. But I've got a feeling I'd hurt a lot more if he died instead of mum. It doesn't even make sense to me.
Dad
We can talk about football/girls, alcohol and education  real men talk
My mum, without any hesitation.

My dad left when I was very young and my ex-stepdad was a ****, so I would choose my mum on those grounds. Though i don't particularly get along with her either.
