Hey, same here I got reserve for clinical engineering too. I heard that last year for clinical engineering just 1 person from the reserve list got moved up to an actual offer. I hope they release the rank list soon!

Do you reckon they will actually give us the rank then? I kind of thought they would just give us our score and we'd be left to wonder where abouts that ranked?!!

EDIT: Ah just reread the email, it does look like they'll be releasing rank, that'll be good, save any unnecessary hoping.

I got an email that said our 'interview rank'

Yes! I did meet you. I was the one from Oxford.

Well done! Yeah, i had to confirm a load stuff to opt out. But i had my highest preference, so i dont think it would have made a difference.

Hey, how did you opt out of upgrades? I am trying to but can't see how to do it! I emailed and they just said they weren't sure but it was "probably through Oriel"... :frown:

Well done on your offer!
Do they release our scores?
Did anyone else who got interview unsuccessful have their email worded as "We are writing to confirm that you were unsuccessful at interview" or was this some special wording I got?
Did they think that I must have known that I was unsuccessful already due to horrible performance?
(I actually didn't think that it had gone that badly!)

Well done to those with offers. I hope you have a great time learning lots of new things and meeting new people.

Is anyone else taking a position in Birmingham for genomics? If I can remember rightly, there were 4 positions there.

Also, what is the difference between opting for upgrades and putting an offer on hold? Is hold more for people who have offers in different specialisms?

If you accept then you agree to go to that place, but opting in for upgrades means if a space higher in your list of choices becomes free you'll automatically accept that.
If you put it on hold, you haven't accepted the place, but are waiting to see if you get offered something else.

Ahh fantastic! That was pretty high on my list actually! You must be thrilled!
I ranked all of the Med Phys locations so im hoping something will come back to me. I wonder if everyone took the same approach as me- rank them all, or were they more selective? All i can really do is wait and see!

Sorry was revising all afternoon! Yep, pretty thrilled as it's what I've wanted to do for years now - admittedly that may have helped as I have lots of relevant experience now

I ranked all the locations too, as I didn't see any point in not and I wouldn't have said no to any location. I honestly have no idea what most people do though - I know a lot of my friends are way fussier about the location than the job, whereas I'm the opposite. Best of luck
Has anyone from audiology reveived an offer yet?have they even offered we all seem to have got put on reserve
I've been offered a place doing Neurophysiology at Portsmouth!
Really happy, but Portsmouth was my 5th choice, and I'd like to take one of my higher choices if it's by any chance offered - so should I choose 'hold'? is that the different between hold and accept?
Sorry If I'm being dim!

Congratulations! If you would accept regardless of it being Portsmouth, pick Accept, then Opt In to upgrades. If you would only accept if you get another location, then pick Hold and Opt In to upgrades.

By visits to department's do you mean just work experience in labs or actually working there? If just work experience how did you orgainse it?
Also are there any example 'tell me about a time you did this' questions?
Thank you for all your advice really useful ill keep it in mind for next time. And thank you i really hope so haha.

I just mean visiting the department for the day, not even working. When I visited one a bunch of the technologists there took me round and showed loads of the lab techniques they do. At the other I spoke with current trainees/scientists/heads who gave me presentations/answered my q's. I just emailed around various different locations saying I was interested in the STP and could I visit for the day - some didn't reply but got some visits out of it

Hey! we met at the interviews! Congrats on your offer, looks like I'll be seeing you in September! I'm headed to Bristol unless I can upgrade to Sheffield, but currently trying to figure out if Bristol might be preferable for me! I'm volunteering with the neurophys dept close to me at the moment and hear from them that the Portsmouth dept is very good, they seem to respect it and said the people there were a good bunch, so it will be a great training location if you don't upgrade! :-)

Thanks! Do anyone know of a way of opting out of upgrades on the STP application? I have read some general Oriel guidance that says it is available, but I cannot find it anywhere!

This is what I have found:

"You can opt out of upgrades at any point and this option is on your candidate homescreen. If you choose to accept or hold your offer with upgrades, then you will bedirected to an additional page, which shows you all your higher preferences. You willbe able to edit your higher preferences at this point by opting out of ones you are nolonger interested in."

Does this mean that we can remove a location that we no longer would like to upgrade to? Has anyone accepted their offer with upgrades yet and could shed some light?

Thanks! Yes I live in London too but I was anticipating a move if I got an offer as I (think) I want to specialise in rehab. I guess you can put it on hold and see? Maybe go up and visit this weekend? Congratulations anyway
