1. can anyone solve this:
2x^2 = sqrt*x / 2
and get the answer of 1/2.
thank you!
2. is that the sqrt(x/2) or (sqrt(x))/2?

second one !

second one !
5. (Original post by Muttley79)
to try and solve it at first i got:
4x^2 = x^1/2
then i got - x^1/2 / x^2, which gave me x^-3/2 = 4
But then i keep getting the wrong answer for this

Did you keep the operations consistent for both LHS and RHS?
7. From the way you've written out the question atleast, the answer is not 1/2
8. (Original post by Remainresilient_)
x^-3/2 = 4
It might have been more sensible to keep powers positive for x - can you see how to rewrite this?
9. Alright so this is the whole question, not being able to type it was annoying! But just to make the question a bit clearer, I attached it!

2x^2 = sqrt(x / 2)
4x^4 = x/2 (square both sides)
8x^4 = x (take 2 to the other side)
8x^3 = 1 (cancel the x)
x^3 = 1/8 (take the 8 to the other side)
x = 1/2

. Fabulous! Thank you x
