I did the March 2012 Unit 2 Number and Algebra paper and I got 45%, which on the UMS converter equated to a B grade. However, I was quite disappointed as I have ambitions to get an A.
Any ideas how to in my mock exam and next year's?

Some of the best things to do is identify you weak points within the syllabus of you Exam board and work on them.
Devise a strict timetable to religiously follow and try to reduce distractions as much as possible.
Past papers are quite essential too to get you confident in maths exams and get you into grips of how to come across different questions with similar ways to work them out.
You can also use sites such as BBC Bitesize, Mymaths and Mathsisfun to save you money on tutors and help you in every area of GCSE maths

Make sure you revise every area of the course. Anything could come up and your revision is important.
Read through the entire paper, circling/marking any questions you feel confident that you can do.
Complete the circled questions, this gives you a confidence boost.
Look at the questions you thought you couldn't do and attempt them. It is important to leave no question undone as you can't pick up marks on an unattempted question.
Make sure to check every answer. Keep doing this until your time is up, every second is precious.
