I mean on paper it looks good-you can see if you like each others pics, have some things in common etc. But what I find with my limited experience of it and speed dating, is that it kills spontaneity and the type of women who are on there, maybe this is selection bias, tend to be more into the ordered approach-hence they seem quite fixed in their minds on something, and it's impossible to manufacture the natural mystery or chemistry that comes in less 'formalized' ways.
Just wondered what people's views and experiences were.

I think internet dating can be good for people who are generally very busy or work a lot and so don't get a chance to go out and meet new people. But I'm personally not a fan. Any experience I have had with internet dating has just been a slurry of abuse from men online, and very few genuinely nice guys with any sense of civility.
I guess, trial and error really. And don't expect too much, the internet can be a nasty place. -

I suppose it's good for the sorts of people (i.e. extreme introverts) you can't meet in regular places like pubs bars clubs etc. We don't all socialise in the same ways.
A lot of people on online dating are just socially inept/nasty people who are trying their luck, but there are plenty of hidden gems in there too.
