I guess you need to think about what you want to study at university (which may seem a long way away), because some universities can be a bit picky about which A-Levels you do. For example, if you wanted to do the English course at an Oxbridge university, they generally consider English Literature to be the key subject, and can sometimes consider English Language to be a bit of a 'soft' subject.
It also depends on what other subjects you're thinking of taking at A-Level, because you might want to ensure that you don't narrow your options by taking both Englishes.
I had exactly the same problem earlier this year, as I knew that I wanted to do English Literature but wasn't so sure about Language. A couple of teachers wanted me to do both but at the end of the day I decided that 4 A-Level subjects (3 essay-based subjects and art) would be too much- [my school no longer offers AS-Levels so I didn't have the option of choosing 4 then dropping one later)
    Hope this helps!
