Will I be in trouble? I feel really sick to even focus studying. To all Sixth Form students, what happens when you take a day off? I've never actually taken a day off so I would like to know what happens when you do.

Well most of the time you have to have a doctor's note for the day off to be authorized or at least a parent's letter I think. But yeah they are quite strict on term time holidays. I hope you feel better soon!

It varies from college to college. You will probably have to ring up and let them know that you are ill.

I would never advocate days off absent but if you have had no previous days off ill and you feel as though you could use a day to recover then go for it. As long as you catch up the work you have missed, I can't imagine the Sixth Form will have a problem.

Procedures and punishments range across different sixth forms. Ask your friends what happened to them when they took a day off.

My sixth form would never let such an excuse sorry LOL. In their words "unless you are dying, you need to be in school". I'm not saying i agree with their policy, but I am saying they would be annoyed if you used that as an excuse (at my sixth form).

    Good luck OP

Perhaps it will be okay if you have one day off and get a parent to ring and say you've been up all night ill. If its more than a day maybe you will need a doctors note.

Just email the head of sixth form that you are ill and he/she might just give you work from your teachers to do.
