Is this reasonable worry or illogical on my part? (Sti concerns) watch

My boyfriend is in his 30's and has had many many partners. He says about 30 relationships with much older and younger women but he has possibly had more). I like him everything is great but im worried about catching sti's. Its ok for him ive never had sex before but im worried about genital herpes and hpv as he gets coldsores and pimple like spots on his thighs (could be mild hsv). He said he has had a test 4 years ago and it was clear and we are using a condom anyway. Its things like herpes and oral/cervical hpv (things they dont test for) that im worried about (im too old for hpv vaccine on the nhs) I know women who have had pre cancerous cells and hysterectomies and its scary. Part of me is annoyed that he has had so many partners but that im 'fresh' for him lol.

We have been dating for 6 months i can tell he likes me (i like him too) as he has been willing to wait for me. Am i worrying too much? He said that he doesnt usually use condoms if he knows whete a partner has been/that she is clean etc. i could insist on testing (id have one for him even though ive not been active) but even then id worry about hpv/oral cancer and herpes.

I dont know what im supposed to do or be thinking :/

If he doesn't want to use a condom, don't do anything with him.
Extremely selfish of him if he has admitted to you how many partners he has had and still doesn't want to use a condom.

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
