I'm in year 12 and need at least an A in chemistry. Is there anybody who has experience and can give me some really helpful tips?

Chemrevise.org is amazing for concise notes and chemguide is very good as well, but is very detailed. With chemistry it's very much about understanding concepts as (for AQA at least) they examine you on virtually everything.

I don't know exactly how the new AS is arranged but for mechanisms and things like colour changes in chemical tests you really do need to memorise them; you can't really get around it as it's a lot of marks on a paper.

Go over your notes and make sure you understand everything. I would normally say do past papers but seeing as it's a new spec I suppose you'll have to make do with practice questions! You could do past papers from the obsolete spec but I'm not sure how applicable they are.
    Hope this helps a bit.
