Should the media & EU Stay In campaign have to used the term European Union watch

    • Thread Starter

The leave.EU campaign have launched a petition demanding that the UK media and the EU Stray In campaign must use the term european union rather than europe as they have been. The point being the In campaign are trying to mislead voters in that europe is a physical continent and the EU is a political construct.

The In campaign use the slogan 'we are stronger in europe' so should they have to change it to 'we are stronger in the European Union' and should the media have to refer to it as the EU instead of Europe

The only people the difference may affect are complete thickos. Both sides of the debate (and indeed, every political party in history) spew all kinds of **** which only complete thickos would believe/be affected by - an example of what the 'leave' campaign has been using is the notion of 'uncontrolled immigration' within the EU - about as close to a complete lie as one can get in politics - when in fact there are very clear limitations which almost completely rule out the main complaint of net withdrawing immigrants (source: Article 7 (page 17) here: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/...img' />PDF).
