    Hi
I will soon have to choose my A-level options and would like some advice. In the future, I want to study medicine so I will take maths, chemistry and biology.
However I am not sure what to take for my 4th subject from physics or geography.
I enjoy both subjects and I am predicted an A* in both of them. I find human geography far more interesting than physical.
I have also heard UCL prefers a contrasting subject. How true is this?

Any advice (from medics/people studying A-level geography/physics) much appreciated.

Seeing as Maths, Chemistry and Biology are the subjects that are needed, the fourth won't make much of a difference for most universities. I would suggest to take the one you enjoy the most as they are both academic and will look well with your other subjects.

Personally, i would go with Physics. It has some relevance with Medicine (and i enjoy it more)

I'd say Geography. The other 3 sciences you are doing are quite demanding, and in comparison Geography will be like a break. I really enjoyed Geography A-level and it was a good contrast to my other sciences

Why not opt for an essay writing subject such as English or History? It would definitely show that you have diverse set of skills and a breadth of knowledge.

Thank you for all the replies.
I did not take GCSE history and I really dislike English GCSE. In addition, it is the subject that I am getting the worst grades in at GCSE. Therefore I cannot take an essay subject.
