    Hi all,

I have accepted a full-time unconditional offer for the University of Westminster, starting in January of 2016. I am completely new to searching for available apartments as an international tenant, and I would love any advice from people who have experienced renting in London as an international student, or who knows any information that would be beneficial. Do you know anyone who could lend a helping hand? Where to look? What to say when searching?

Ideally, my friend and I would like to find a two bedroom apartment but I am completely open to finding rooms/etc!

    Thanks,

    Cait

Hi! I've just seen your post and I have basically just moved into International Hall which is a catered lovely room! I am thinking of moving back home next term and commuting to London instead. Would you be interested? It is a wonderful location, sociable and really good value for money! Do let me know if you're interested or if you have any questions!

    Hi Nikki-
Thank you for the heads up! Unfortunately I'm a postgrad student, so for Westminster I'm only allowed to rent at the Urbanest locations or Wigram House. I appreciate it though

If I were you I'd suggest going into university owned halls if you can. The London housing market is ridiculously overheated, with houses being let the same day they go on the market, estate agents regularly pulling 'bait and switch' scams, and often substandard living quarters rented for inflated sums.

It's not easy finding somewhere decent to live even if you're in London already (I know, I'm there and currently househunting). Don't even try and do it remotely - it's fraught with danger and scams. You'll find it far, far easier to go through your uni.
