i did 6 months volunteer work in A&E at a hospital, where my role was guiding patients to where ever i was told to take them, and providing waiting patients with drink/food at request.

i want to write about this in my personal statement since its my only work experience, but since im applying to aerospace engineering its not entirely relevant.

how do i make it sound relevant to my degree choice, or at the very least how do i mention it in my personal statement without saying "i made tea for old and sick people"

Customer relations, Admin, Personnel Skills, dedication

    All important in Engineering.

Otherwise you could gear it towards personal matters rather than academic growth, maybe a small section about how it improved your skills in the above making you a better person...

IMO you should use it to illustrate your people skills... whenever I've been in an A&E people have been pissed off and stressed - dealing with that for 6 months isn't nothing.

What do you get out of it? Interest (outside your current 'school bubble'), and has helped you develop maturity, reflection, self-confidence and an understanding of the bigger world. And that you *enjoy* doing it - all Unis like enthusiastic people.
