I am currently studying A level Psychology and I am loving it so far. I have heard some people say that A level Psychology is useless and that it deserved no respect whatsoever. I am curious to know of what you guys think about this?

People do make fun of it but it is a hard alevel which is well respected by all unis with most considering it as a facilitating subject. Different people have different preferences overall.

A better questions is - is the study of psychology respected at all, in the realms of both the hard and social sciences?

I would say only ignorants and short sighted people do 'disrespect' it. Mental illness is as damaging as physical ones. To have an understanding how an illness comes about is, in my opinion, an extremely important subject concerning humanity. To study and know what it takes to alleviate these types of illnesses is a feat that should be respected as well.

It was a separate point but I guess it should be respected as a subject. From a personal point of view I believe it is boring, and doesn't require a lot of skill to do well.
