    Hiya,

I'm doing some research for an upcoming project to improve TSR's app, and as a starting point, I wondered what other social / forum style apps do you use? Which ones do you really enjoy? And what do you think we can learn from them?

    Thanks,
    Jack

I used the tsr app for the first time a couple days ago and it was rubbish :fuhrer: glad to hear you're planning to improve it.

Only other app I use is whatsapp tho, that's one of the best there is for chatting. Prefer it over Kik.

Porn websites usually have comments sections. Do they count?

I used to use xtreme papers mainly for the "jokes? In here? Really?" Forum
The other one is WhatsApp. Not because I use it frequently( I don't really like chatting on these things) but because it is easy to navigate

Facebook Messenger and Snapchat. The smoother/simpler the interface, the better.

TSR's app is currently very disjointed, difficult to navigate, and generally needs fixing

Personally I love how Invision Power Board has taken their mobile version. (link) It essentially scraps the crap (going to be my new TSR slogan now! )

Alternatively Alien Blue (link) is a funky app for Reddit. It might be a bit too out there and does things a bit differently, but good to look at nonetheless.

I think that the thing to remember is that ultimately people with the TSR app will have at least a basic knowledge of how TSR works. People just want an easy experience with a few features that they use the most (am sure that there's some stats somewhere that shows which features people use most?).

Features that I really want to see on TSR 2.0 include:
    • Phone Notifications
    • No-lag text editor
    • Easy navigation
    • Moderation tools
    • Ditch the sidebar stuff and have the dashboard as My TSR but a sexy version.
Making this without high bandwidth would also be a bonus.

I'm happy to wireframe if you wanted an idea?
