I am writing as a graduate from an ex-poly with first class honours (LLB) and a distinction in my LLM to gather what peoples thoughts are on the chances of gaining pupillage having gone to an ex-poly? Does an applicant's university matter less where high grades are achieved?
I have gained a wide range of experience from mini pupillages to solicitors firms and voluntary placements and have also had two journal articles published. I am currently working as a paralegal and saving for the BPTC however I have a niggling doubt that I will not be able to gain a pupillage due to the university I attended (not that it will stop me!)

Any thoughts on the topic are welcome and I thought such a discussion may also help others so feel free to share backgrounds etc.

There is no doubt that you will find it harder than someone with a congratulatory first from Oxford and an All Souls prize fellowship.

However there are people who get pupillage from ex-poly universities, just not many of them.
