My predicted grades are CCC, realistically what's the highest entry requirements can I apply for (is BBB too hopeful)
Also just say I get rejected by a uni with higher entry requirements but i get the grades I needed when I get my results (I'm doing a couple of resits) can I call them and re apply or something.
Pls, I wanna get into a good uni but my predicted grades ain't helping

Predicted grades only form part of your application, in combination with your AS grades, personal statement and reference. As your predicted grades are CCC though, presumably your AS grades are the same or slightly lower, which means that you'd really struggle to get into BBB universities. I recommend applying to one BBB uni as an optimistic choice, and then the rest ranging from BBC to CCC. I'm not sure about whether you can apply to the same university again post-rejection in clearing, sorry, but even if that's not possible you could apply to a different BBB uni via clearing if you achieved the grades.

Lots of advice here : http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...g_5_Rejections

BCC is worth a shot but anything above that is risky - and remember if they are asking for BCC that's what they actually want so if you are not confident you can actually put in the big effort to get a B,is it worth applying.

On Results Day, most Unis will consider some 'near misses' - but this depends on what spare places they have (*if any*) and if they think they'll get better people than you in Clearing (ie. with, or above, the required grades). If you get above the grades required by your Firm choice you can approach 'higher' Unis for a place in Adjustment - but remember there is no guarantee that they will have a place on the course you want. Lots of info on Clearing and Adjustment on the UCAS site.

What are your AS grades? The predicted grades should be based on your AS grades and, if you ask your referee to inflate them, it's unlikely that universities will believe them. I suggest you apply to universities that ask for CCC or its equivalent in UCAS points and then, if you've done better than you expected on results day, go through Adjustment to see if you can get something better.

Or, if you don't want to do that, forget applying this year and apply in a gap year with achieved grades. The most ambitious of your university choices should ask for nothing more than BCC or, at a stretch, BBC. Any higher and it's likely that you will be rejected.

If you'd really wanted to go to a 'good' university that badly, you should've worked your ass off to get better grades than those that got you the CCC predictions. Sorry if that's harsh, but it's true.

work hard this year with your AS resits and A2 exams and if you get good grades, you can apply for top Russell group universities next year.

It really depends on what course you apply to - if it's English or any other essay course they weigh your personal statement a lot heavier than other subjects so they might accept you if your grades are lower than what they usually offer

    Good luck
