    Hi,

I would like to ask for some advice as within 10 days I really need to be out of my parents house and have nowhere to go.

I'll try to keep it short. Since the age of 16 I have had a job and bought everything for my self. Financially, my parents honestly never helped me and that's okay. I used to rent a flat with my friend but unfortunately it ended and I had to go back to my parent's house for about a month or two when I will be looking for another place to stay in.

So, the time went by, and I have 10 days left. My parents are very difficult to communicate with and always shout at me even when I am trying to be nice for them. I am 21, and I am doing all I can to move out to my own place but it's not as simple as I cannot afford private tenancy straight away.

I have been to the city council and I am trying to get help from them but it also takes a little time for everything to get processed.

What I would like to know is that within the 10 days when the time comes, what I can really do to avoid landing on the streets.

    Keep in mind:
    • The relationship between and my parents is seriously bad, I cannot communicate with them even when I ask for calm conversation.
    • I do not have any friends I could stay with for a short period of time.
    • I can't afford hotels.
    I am honestly stuck.

Really sorry to hear about your situation.

Do you still have a job. If not then I would suggest that you try to get a job(s) and try saving up as much as you can to aid your financial situation.

Did they evict you? Otherwise why cause yourself unnecessary grief and stress?
Also why wait for 10 day limit? if this was your plan, you should've been...well...planning.

Are your parents going to refuse to let you live there after 10 days? If so then you can present yourself as homeless to the local council - but talk to them as soon as you can. Claim whatever benefits you are entitled to - housing benefit, job seekers allowance etc.

Here is some information from shelter about being homeless.
