    Hi

I applied on 13th August and have provided everything I've been asked for including declaration form and my parents have provided their details and it says all this has been received, but my application still just says "STATUS APPLICATION SUBMITTED" and is saying it can take 6 weeks to process the application, and has said this since August (probably been around 9-10 weeks since the declaration form was received). I called Student Finance twice, the first time I was told I had to send a letter to change my application to non-income assessed, so I did that. A week later, I called again because nothing had changed and was told that it will take two weeks to process the letter I sent and it should be sorted in 2 weeks. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since that phone call (3 weeks since sending the letter) and nothing has changed.

Just wondering what could be causing the delay considering I know others who applied after me and have been approved. Just feels like I'm getting fobbed off every time I call.

    Hi,

It's difficult for me to say with any accuracy without seeing your account but it sounds as if the application is pended for some evidence from your parents. If you've sent a letter asking that your parents details are not taken into account then this should resolve this but at this time of year it's taking 16 working days for a letter of this kind to be processed. If you want more accurate information then call us on 0300 100 0607.

    Many Thanks
