So I'm 20 and left uni last April as I wasn't really enjoying what I was doing. Thankfully that hasn't left me doing absolutely nothing as I had a part time job to keep me going. So I've been doing that for the past 6 months. But after attempting to do multiple different things since then I've found it hard to actually get a proper job. I don't know if it's down to my age or not.

So are there any jobs for people my age, outside of remedial jobs in retail and fast food chains. Or is it a case of I'm not looking in the right place?

Customer service/call centre type stuff? I've seen a load of people go work for places like Capita in various bits and pieces mainly customer service (like complaints, or enquiries). I think they have a few different bits and depends on which business but sounds a lot like call-based work. Customer service stuff can at least transfer into a few different industries and you've probably got reasonable skills to talk about from part time work.
