I'm doing sport BTEC at college, I'm on my second year extended diploma. So far I have got distinction on assignments I have done so far and a meet (some assignments only go up to a merit)
In my first year I didn't do very well I got a overall pass grade , one distinction two merits and the rest passes , my mom died in the middle of the year so I basically took most of the year off and just found it too difficult to do my work and aim for distinctions :/

I am doing well now and my attendance is 100% I'm ahead of everyone in my group and so far all my assignments have been graded with distinctions but lecturers , I want to go to uni and do sport science

Can I still get DDD at the end of the year even though I had a bad year last year?

    You need 1500 BTEC points

So thats 6 Ds and 12 Ms for the 18 unit course, or equivalent if you have some passes
