Hello,
I'm getting poor grades in HIS3M so want to do some wider reading and get some good DVDs or whatever to help educate me in the topics.
I am going to get the collection by Andrew Marr (History + Making of Modern Britain)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
What else should I read to help improve my grades? Just want something that engages with me; some of this is so boring!
Should I buy the Andrew Marr books that accompany the series i.e History + Making of Modern Britain Paperbooks (I learn much more from videos though). There is also
Britain since 1945: The People's Peace
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Britain-sinc...0_SR103%2C160_
AND
Britain since 1945: A Political History
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Britain-sinc...s=1945+britain

I've bought Marr's Making of Modern Britain a few weeks ago but it only goes up to 1945. Your course might be different, but I am studying from 1951- 2007 and so it isn't really that helpful. I've written a piece on my Medium blog that might help you understand why the Conservatives won/ Labour lost the 1951 election, and I plan to continue posting relevant information on the HIS3M module.- hope this helps
