Does part time work and a maths degree go together? watch

    • Thread Starter

I have just started a maths degree and have a part time job but I feel like I am constantly playing catch up and never have time to do things that I enjoy because I am either studying or working. A maths degree requires so much of your own time to do well at it, I am just wondering if anyone has advice on doing a degree and working at the same time?

Yes, it's entirely possible. Last year (3rd year of a Maths degree at Warwick), I clocked well on the high side of 250 hours of volunteering, plus a whole bunch of stuff with sports clubs, societies, etc. This year, I'm adding in working for the university (according to my contract, 10 hours / week) to that list. I doubt any job describing itself as "part time" takes more hours than that lot put together. It's entirely possible, with good time management.
Do you think parents should charge rent?
