Since there was no Russian GP thread and that was some unbelievable tekkers imo,
with Hamilton big win, Vettel 2nd
7 retirements included Rosberg, Sainz, Ricciardo, Bottas
an amazing 3rd place battle which led Sergio Perez to his 5th podium while Bottas got taken out of the race by Raikkonen (who finished 4th)

Anyway that's old news so here is the Formula 1 US GP discussion

Is there live coverage on the BBC, or just highlights this week? I can't remember.

It looks like P2 has been cancelled due to bad weather and medical helicopter unavailability

The weather is still extremely wet which will continue to tomorrows P3 and Qualifier

Mr Palmer confirmed for Lotus. In other news, BBC will mostly likely not have Hamilton clinching the title live.

P3 is done. The qualifier should be starting at the moment. Hurricane Patricia effects still bringing a storm (monsoon as they call it) which still looks like it isn't calming down for race day

Anyway here are the results for P3

    2. S Vettel, Ferrari, 2:00.380

    4. V Bottas, Williams, 2:00.523
    5. C Sainz, Toro Rosso, 2:00.687
    6. D Kvyat, Red Bull, 2:00.694
    7. K Raikkonen, Ferrari, 2:00.785

Qualifying has been delayed (for quite some time) due to weather and overflowing of drainage system .

If weather conditions don't improve tonight (for Austin, it's the afternoon ), qualifiers will be done tomorrow morning

If they still can't do qualifiers in the morning then the P3 times will be the GP's pole positions

Here's the latest update (LeyK: More like old ) : 'If there is no clear sign of a break in the weather conditions at 16:00 (22:00 GMT +1), qualifying will be postponed until 09:00 (15:00 GMT +1/14:00 GMT) on Sunday morning (Afternoon).'

Looks like Qualifiers are postponed for tomorrow at 2pm (GMT)

What a gloomy GP Well I still want to see a race in this thick rain (and though the weather is relentless, it's still confusing whether the weather will improve or not tomorrow. Looks like we have to wait and see).

Hoping for a good race, although I won't get to see it because my sister stupidly had to turn 40 and have a dinner party today lol.

I'm going to be sneakily looking for updates though, whist bored at dinner. Fingers crossed for the weather to be better!

Looking forward to quali and the race today, hoping it will be a wet race with the odd safety car.

If it is wet then look at Ferrari and Red Bull but don't rule out a really good result for Mclaren.

Will check the radar then update.

Okay people so for a decent weather radar you want to type 'us weather radar' into google and then go for the second link called 'intellicast'.

Seems to suggest Austin still getting rain although I think there's missing images over Mexico since the jet streak randomly starts over western Texas on the current image.

Looks like lighter rain though so probably doable.

Sainz crashed but does have a time on board so penalties may push him up the grid.

Rain looks good on radar. Not heavy but persistent and this track has plenty of run off.

    Session should start again soon.

Ricciardo top, Mclarens 9th and 12th.

Vettel just survives to Q2, the Williams looks horrid.
