    Is the bank of englands recent rate rise going to help stablise borrowing and the housing market?

    Economic theory would suggest that an interest rate rise will encourage consumers to save more and borrow less, but the housing market in particular is pretty vigorous at the minute, I doubt the rise will be enough to have any real impact

    I'd pretty much agree, over the next few months it may have more of a impact.
