I'd really like to spend my birthday money on a drum kit and I found this decent seeming kit on Amazon however would current drummers recommend it to begin with?

    have a peek here

If not what would your recommend? Should I buy secondhand on eBay?

If you can, I'd recommend trying out a kit before you buy it because they tend to sound very different, and some can sound pretty terrible tbh. I don't have any other advice, sorry!

I would suggest trying out a kit first? Whereabouts are you based? I can then check to see if there are any decent music shops near you

    South Oxfordshire

I can easily get to Oxford, Reading and Swindon (London is easy as well but expensive to get there)

Check out Professional Music Technology in Oxford

    http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/stores/oxford/

Not sure how big their drum section is (PMT are one of the largest chains in the UK though)

If you do find yourself in London/Essex, check out Sound Attak - they specialise in drums.

    Hope this helps
