    I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to do 5ia and 5ic in the photo. They are counting problems but I dont really know how to count the different sequences.

    MAT questions seem to be more challenging, with the idea of getting you to think, so just telling you how to do it is self defeating, IMO.

    That said.

    I'd start by writing one sequence and look at its features. What is it similar to, that you have come across in combinatorics?
