How to cite something in an essay which has already been cited within a book. watch

    Hi,Sorry if this is confusing and sorry if it's in the wrong forum.

    I'm writing an essay and I have to use a specific book to refer to within the essay however, within the book the author has utilised the views of various writers. The author has cited them however, I do not know how I am supposed to cite their views within my essay.

    For example: Both of these question engaged the attention of one of the most distinguished philosophers of education of the twentieth century, namely Richard Peters, who in a hugely influential book (Peters, 1966)....
