got an interview for auxiliary nursing - stroke ward :D any advice? :) watch

    Have a look at the NHS Constitution (2013) and be aware of the principles it puts forward.

    Be non-discriminatory and show compassion in the answers you give.

    You are likely to be asked what your roles and responsibilities will be, why you'd like the job and may be asked to provide examples of when you have shown compassion, dignity respect or dealt with a difficult situation, so have some examples pre-prepared for these common questions.

    Also think about how you might communicate with patients who are physically and mentally impaired (As I believe a stroke can cause this) and communicate with distressed family members - it may be the first time their relative has had a stroke - and think about how you may deal with death.

    Sorry, that's a lot of things, but I hope that helps. Feel free to ask anything else. I'm a children's nurse, but I obviously have an awareness of the basic principles of healthcare and of what a nursing auxiliary may do etc
