I got my nose pierced almost 2 months ago, and it was healing fine but about a month after I got it done I noticed a red bump next to it. I think this may have happened because whilst cleaning it a few days before, some of the crusting caused the piercing to bleed, and after that it had been sore and gross. I've been doing sea salt soaks every day as well as using diluted tea tree oil on my nose stud, and although it seems to shrink it never seems to stay down or go away! Could it be something to do with the way it was pierced or with the material? As it was pierced with a gun with surgical steel. It isn't as bad as I've seen and it has never smelt so I don't think it's infected, but I am just sick of it being there now!

I don't know a lot about piercings but if it doesn't go away soon then it might be worth just checking with a GP or nurse that you're not allergic to the metal or piercing or anything like that. A month is quite a long time if there is a problem with it and most things would go away in that time, so I'd get it checked if I were you if only for your own peace of mind, you wouldn't be wasting their time.
