I made new friends in my second year of university, people who i actually have a lot in common with and that are so much fun.

However, in the group they were all friends in first year so seem to have quite a strong bond. Sometimes i feel very left out, on nights out sometimes one of my friends will say how much she is going to miss our other friend and hug her and just almost pretend I'm not there. (Our friend is doing a year abroad).

Also when i'm at home they all FaceTime each other, although they text me i feel like they all FaceTime and everything a lot more than myself. It's not that they leave me out but almost that i'm not needed, although i know they love me and everything, and think highly of our friendship.

I'm having to go away with other friends for a 21st, and just don't want to miss out on what my friends are doing also, it's so annoying. I'm just always scared to be left out and want to be part of everything because i like spending time and have so much fun with them.

I think people are tribal by nature, they don't just go around becoming very comfortable with outsiders. The chances are if you had been friends with them in their first year you would have found that they would probably facetime you now. I think you just need to give it more time.

Just consider yourself lucky that you have found people you have a lot in common with.
