I did my AS Levels in 2014 and came out with CCCE and due to this I retook my AS year and retook three of those AS levels and picked up AS Law. Last year I recieved AAAB in English Literature, English Language, Film and Law. I am applying to study English Literature in September at University, however, although I recieved an A in literature last year(100% in the exam), I had received an E the year before. Do I have to mention this E grade even though I have improved it? I am aware that I have to mention my resits but do I have to mention the grades?

You have no choice but to mention all i.e. retakes, resits, the lot. Don't you worry, universities will be amazed that you have improved from such bad grades to such amazing grades. Well done by the way!

However, you will need to ask your chosen unis whether they'll put you at a disadvantage for being a retake (most don't), so that you know where you stand and whether there is a chance of you getting an offer with no barriers.

I guess. My teacher said that the Universities and UCAS cannot see any information which I have not provided, therefore, would they be able to see my old grade if I have not mentioned it?
