I'm using sites like Unistat and whatuni, are the figures correct/ reliable, for many of the courses i'm finding the average UCAS offers accepted to the course is lower than the points that they demand on their website, could anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

It's not the average UCAS points offered it's the average UCAS points achieved by the students on results day. Bear in mind this figure is skewed upwards by those doing the IB (which tends to carry more UCAS points overall) and those doing extra subjects like Critical Thinking or General Studies, or even those with music exams.

Basically, the figure shows what the students going in to the uni are capable of (to an extent, given the above exceptions) and how competitive that uni/course is - higher numbers = more competition.

Any standard offer you see on the web site will be the one they will give you.
