I want to reapply for uni after a gap year and the course I'm looking to do requires 260-280 UCAS points but I only got 240 at A level. Does this mean I can't do the course or will I have enough points from including AS levels?

AS points aren't normally included in offers. it's worth applying as you could still get an offer, but maybe also look at the same course at universities looking for people with less points?

You need to read the conditions of the offer. A lot of them specify that the UCAS points have to be from A2s (e.g. 260-280 UCAS points from 3 A Level qualifications) but if that's not specified then you may be able to use points from AS. If there's any ambiguity then just ask.

Most uni's don't credit UCAS points as people doing IB (who do 6 subjects) and those who just did more AS/A levels will have higher UCAS points than the typical A level student doing 3 subjects.
If your course has specific subject requirements, UCAS points aren't usually taken into consideration.
