    Hi all,

I have recently decided upon my A Levels with a view to studying Law or History/Politics at university. (My school requires us to confirm our options very early for some strange reason - don't ask me why!)

My choices are History, French, Politics and Latin. For a degree in History and/or Politics, A Levels like these would be fine, however is there a subject I have not chosen that would be good for if I decided to do a degree in Law?

If anyone has done any of these subjects at A Level and has any comment, either in favour of or against any of these subjects or can advise me in any way (Eg good beginner books to read), please do let me know.

    Thanks,
    Banana

No they are excellent choices, so good you have planned what you want to do. I'm in year 12 and I still don't know yet what I want to study at University, Maybe ICT/Computer Science but still unsure!!

Have to say that's a pretty formidable line up (I mean that in a good way!). Just thinking though, what about English?

I was thinking about that and I do really enjoy English, but I want to do these subjects more and I'm not sure I would want to do two more years of English!

I want to do law at uni too! I'm going for French, English lit, maths and economics.

speaking of which, how are you feeling about French? I'd say that I'm 10% doubtful because it is really hard, but I love French and really want to do it at A-Level.

I would say I'm the same as you regarding French, but I know I'll end up loving it
    Good luck for your GCSEs!!!

to be honest most unis if not ll do not really require you to have studied all those hardcore subjects eg latin ( a dead language by the way ) so i think you are better off decide whatever as long as you ACE the subjects

    i bid you goodbye
