Hi! It's the same with me too - I feel that my best mate and I are drifting from one another - and it does hurt. But tbh I'm meeting other people and so is she and I'm gradually getting closer to the new people I've met. I've moved on and tbh it wasn't easy. Try talking to other people with similar interests and then you should hopefully get this worry off of your mind. If you would like to talk, I'm here

depends, have you tried to keep this friendship alive and they just don't seem to want to know anymore?

It's not about acceptance though - its about how strong a friendship is and how far it is from wearing away.

No problem. Of course I care - I may be a stranger but I understand when others are feeling the same way I do <3

I think you should discover, and find other fascinated people out there. That's what I personally did, as my 'friends' started to drift away I used by initiative to find new friends. From personal experience I wouldn't regret it at all. Your 'friends' which you would have now, would soon slowly understand from their mistakes. It's up to you really.
