    State Opening of Parliament XXII

With votes counted, seats assigned, and top-secret negotiations finally over, the general election has now concluded.

I can hereby announce the opening of the 22nd Parliament.

The new TSR Government will comprise of a 2-party coalition as follows:

    • TSR Labour Party – 14 seats
    • TSR Liberal Party – 9 seats

The role of Official Opposition is to be occupied by:

    • TSR Conservative Party – 13 seats

I invite the officers of the governing parties to formalise their agreement, and to then allocate Cabinet positions as they so wish. I similarly ask that the Opposition now form a Shadow Ministry.

    Parliament XXII

Normal House business will now resume.

Thanks to all who have sent me MP lists already. Please can all those who haven't confirm ASAP.

Please can all current MPs apply to join the usergroup when convenient.

Well, I hope for the sake of the Liberals this doesn't become three collapses in a row; for the sake of [relatively] sound politics I hope it does

The Liberals are in very good hands with Jarred and I'm sure will prove pragmatic and stable. I very much look forward to Labour serving the nation once more.

Delighted to see that we have a (slightly) left leaning government. I wish the coalition the best of luck and hope to be able to work with them on issues where there is a policy overlap with us Greens

When imaginary power is more important than principles, or perhaps this is the case of weak memory? I'm looking forward to another embarrassing fight after just a couple of weeks.

    *prepares for Liberal bashing*

Look, guys, the Liberals are in a far better place than they were in May-July. With Jarred as leader, who is very experienced and essentially a good leader, I'm sure LabLib will be grand and not a repeat of the catastrophe that occurred a few months ago.

There was a reason I asked for political compass, beyond pure intrigue

But it has also been a long time, as I recall, the last one was just finishing when I arrived all the way back at the beginning of the year

Nice to see Labour back in Number 10. Let's hope it goes better this time around.

Despite the issues of a LibLab coalition, I think all of us want to see a coalition work, after the last one especially. I think we'll do good work together and help the Country, and at the end of the day I hope we, Labour, prove ourselves worthy

Well last time you had the greens, the liberals (already unlikely allies) and UKIP who's only real potential ally, in my opinion, is you guys in the Conservative and Union party.

LibLab has more common ground, especially if the Labour don't over do it and play more to the centre to keep the liberals happy, but do enough to keep the greens and the socialists happy enough to vote with the government, and to not vote against or abstain. It'll be tricky do doubt. Personally irl I'd be anxious about a LibLab coalition, but I think we can make it work on here, we're a far more of a board church than the PLP is
