So all my friends have gone to uni, while I've stayed at home to do an internship (already got my spot deferred for next year). We all talk a bit, and plan on meeting up at Christmas and that, and I've been up to see some of the closer friends. But they're planning on trips to Dublin, and weekends out (it's like £60 a return ticket on the train for me...)

Of course I want to meet up with my mates and don't want to miss out on stuff, but I really can't afford to do all this stuff, part of the reason I did this year was to save up some money... What should I do? :/

Tbh, it's incredibly hard keeping up with school friends once they all go to uni. I've seen groups of friends who were really close, now go to uni's not far from each other (so train tickets are cheap) and still not keep in touch.

do you have a railcard? that should cut the price of the tickets. I would compromise and try and go to some of the meet ups.
