Advice for current civil engineering students at Cardiff Uni watch

    • Thread Starter

Hi, I'm currently a first year Civil Eng student at Cardiff Uni. I'm wondering if any students who have been through it can advise me and any other students who may be finding it difficult. Just a few qstns:

Firstly, how do you recommend the lectures are covered - also, do you think the recommended reading needs to be done or will I be ok without doing anything more than the lectures?
How should we go about revising and doing well in engineering exams? Because sometimes there is a lot of material to go through. But all I need in first year is a pass!
Sometimes I feel that going through each and every lecture/tutorial is just wasting my time, making me bored and want to give up. I don't feel I'm doing it correctly. What would be the most efficient technique to revise and cover the material?
How difficult is it for anybody to do well or even just pass first year civil and the subsequent years?

If you have any advice or pointers I'd be grateful to hear from you.
