Well I saw this coming, and I'm sure a lot of you did too.
Root calls Greer's remarks "outmoded, outdated and outrageous".
In the space of a week, renowed second-wave Feminist Greer has bent over backwards and has now been called to retire from the public eye.
Feminism is crumbling before our eyes, it is self-destructing.

Of course it is, because feminism is all about moral one-upmanship. The scope of views that can be considered "moral" gets narrower and narrower, until even previously prominent and influential feminists get outcast. It's completely unsustainable. Eventually no one will be considered "real" righteous feminists except for a tiny few, who by that time everyone will have turned their backs on.

I hardly agree with Germaine Greer's conclusions on everything, but after seeing her on Question Time and Newsnight I think she's a clear thinking woman, and I respect her for refusing to accept every tenet of contemporary trans politics just to fit in.
I also just plain like her for telling her detractors that she was fed up of them in the way she did.
