I've always had my heart set on a BTEC college course in Production Arts. I'd be going straight in at level 3 as I'm predicted high GCSE results, however it's occurred to me that I still really really want to continue my studies in English. My college course counts as 3 alevels so would it be possible to do an a level in English literature as well as the BTEC? If so, how?

Can't really answer your question, because it entirely depends on your sixth form's policy. In my sixth form however, people are allowed to take subjects like Btec Science and A-level maths, as those are usually asked by admissions to good universities. Just speak to the head of department to clarify their policy.

As it will be an Extended Diploma (the BTEC that equals 3 A Levels) then you probably won't be allowed to. You may want to look at doing BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas alongside A Levels though.

I think you could take it only if your timetables don't clash.
