    Hey, guys.

I'm taking my English Literature exam next year (you can never be too prepared), and someone I know recently told me that you do not get to take the book into the exam with you.

I'm doing it with Edexcel, and had always assumed it was open book. I'm feeling rather frantic, to be honest, as I have an awful memory.

Is the Edexcel iGCSE English Lit exam open book, or not?

    Thank you in advance.

No you do not get to take the book into the exam. The exam board does not expect you to memorise quotes and they won't give marks for including long quotes. You just need to know a few important quotes from the text you are studying.
