I'm looking to study healthcare science at uni and some of the Unis I'm looking at have work experience in a hospital setting as an entry requirement, although I think I'd like to do some anyway to boost my PS and gain awareness about the industry. Unfortunately my closest large hospital is 50 miles away (my local one is too small and just a&e with a few overnight beds and no respiratory/cardiology departments which is where I want to volunteer. I can't afford to travel 50 miles each day but really want to go regularly. Is there any possibility of getting a bursary of some kind to cover travel costs? Or is it down to me?
