Cool iv just had it was fine says if you get through you need a worl trial does anyone know if this means you have it or as good as or still are you competing

Work trial you're still competing - depending on how many jobs there are and how many have been offered a work trial.
There's usually two offered the trial and the best gets it :smile:

Ahh well theres 2 jobs so i hope 2 get offered n both get it, hate the wait i want to know now if i have the next stage lol how long it usually take to hear he said a few days and do sucsessfull applicants get contacted by phone or email?

If you mean the group interview, you should try to get your voice heard, as often in groups some people can find it difficult to be seen/heard and don't appear striking. Get your voice heard with good, thoughtful ideas and fun, lighthearted comments.

My store usually do it through email, but we have on occasion phoned people. Its completely down to the manager.
You'll usually find out within two-three days but it can take up to a week (it completely depends on how long it takes to decide and whether there's a quiet day in store). The trials are usually the week following the initial interview.

Try to be really chatty to everybody because each colleague will be asked about how well you did in different areas. At the end of the trial you will have another interview with the manager where they'll ask different questions like why you want to work there etc

After that it can be up to a week wait to find out if you got it :smile:

Oh i hate waiting ha no hattie not group i terview i apassed that through to tri, ihave a holiday booked in a few weeks will that put them off, i cant cancel it will they ask? And what should a guy wear to the trial

Ah I see, for my trial I just wore a white t-shirt and black school trousers, they might even give you a top when you get there.

Ahh cool i may ring and ask no harm is there. so just expect to clean some animals etc and be really interested etc, is the 121 ok

Just wear a smart tshirt and jeans for the trial.
You'll be asked to clean an animal cage, go on till and faceup the shop.
Having a holiday booked shouldn't be a problem, they should ask you about any holidays in he 121
The only way it may go against you is if its between you and somebody else and they don't have a holiday booked, or a lot of colleagues already have those dates booked off work :smile:

I hope not i have 2 booked but one i cant not to but the other i can say i wont go, really hope it doesent i really want it, faceup the shop so just tidy? What animal may i clean presume someone else will help all the time? Oh and how many do you think will be doing the trial theres 2 jobs? Sorry all the questions lol really want it Thanks

Hey I'm not sure what yours will be like because I'm at a smaller shop than the other ones, my work trial was only like one hour being taught how to use the till, and then after that I had a longer interview with the manager. Facing up the shop is just making sure that no products on the shelves are far back on the shelf where no one can see it - bringing products forward to look neat. Cleaning the animals you might only really do guinea pigs or rabbits, but I didn't do that for my trial. When there were two jobs there were only two of is doing the trial (obviously we both got he job). We were told that if you're on the trial, you've basically already got the job.

really thats exciting, 2 positions here how many were at your group interview then? And how long ago was that? did you do the trial together? And did you have any holidays booked as im going on one in a few weeks dont want to be told cant go or not get the job because of it sorry all the questions lol Thankyou

Only four turned up to the group interview. I've been working there for like an hour and a half now, and yeh well while one of us was at the till, the other was in interview and then we switched over. Nah I didn't have a holiday booked, but I highly doubt that they won't take you just because you're going on holiday.

I work in a large shop but the interview process should be the same across the company?
Your work trial you should definitely be asked to clean a cage out, usually guinea pig (its to see how you are with the animals, it is a pet shop after all) You will do this alone and be monitored whilst doing it.
When facing up you should be moving the old stock to the front of the shelf and the new stuff to the back (when they ask you to face up just ask if they'd like you to stock rotate too, they'll be impressed with you if you're willing to do that on a trial but may say no due to lack of time).
If you ring them they may give you a rough estimate on how long it will last, an hour is quite short, I think mine was 3 haha
