Like henna or what they do at organic hair salons?
Is that better than going to a normal salon?

From what I've read (and I've been researching a lot because I'm planning on using henna in my hair) it is a lot healthier.
Any kind of dyeing from salons is generally damaging your hair due to the chemicals in them.
However, henna actually strengthens your hair by coating the strands, making it shiny and healthy.
I think the only negatives with henna are 1) If you don't use pure henna, which can be dangerous 2) If you don't like red hair (because henna is dominantly red) and 3) If you're not looking for anything permanent, as once henna's in your hair it's there to stay until it grows out.
Sorry this was a bit long, but I'd say in regards to henna at least that yes it is a lot better for your hair; you can apply henna as many times as you like and your hair won't become damaged. Hope this answers your question
