Just announced that the US will be engaging ISIS with ground forces (at least officially now) in Iraq and Syria and pursuing "targets of opportunity whether from the air or on the ground"
After the quite successful raid against the ISIS prison last week, I suspect this announcement is so that they can take somewhat greater risks which means they don't have to be quite so careful about ensuring 0 casualties for US special operations forces.
Also in the news is that Iran has agreed to attend the peace conference in Geneva with the EU, the Americans, the Russians, the Syrian regime and the Syrian opposition. I fervently hope that they can agree some kind of transition to multiparty democracy so that the fighting can end, and then we can go in full force against ISIS.
