i'm 19 and work full time in a toy shop. I'm currently on £5.40 an hour. Is this pretty rubbish? We don't get any extra pay for doing night shifts or working bank holidays either. I do enjoy my job but i'm struggling to get more than 40 hours a week meaning my pay is pretty terrible. Anyone else who can relate?

Minimum wage for 18-20 year olds is at £5.30 just now, being only 10p over it isn't great, but many companies won't pay over minimum wage so I suppose it's good you get paid higher. I'm also 19 and work in a shop, I get £6.09 an hour which is pretty good, apparently the company I work for is known for paying well, perhaps look for a new job with higher pay if you feel you need it, although I appreciate its hard to find a job
