What is the deal with having guests (outside UOSU) stay overnight at Brasenose? If you pay for them are they allowed to attend formal hall (which requires gowns)? If so what is the dress code for guests of students at formal hall?

I think you're supposed to register your guests with the college (probably tell the porters?) for fire safety reasons (and there's a cap on the number of nights you can have guests over each term). That said, lots of people regularly flout the rule.

Yeah you can buy guest tickets on upay for the same price (Max 3 tickets per formal - if you need extra tickets, ask your friends to book for you or buy them off the facebook ticket exchange group).

The guest code is whatever you would wear sans gown. Brasenose is pretty chill on attire generally - I used to wear jeans to formal. As long as you don't look scandalous/ inappropriate, it's fine.
