accomodation--kelvinhaugh street or winton drive?

I'm trying to decide on accomodation at Glasgow. I will be studying English Literature as a postgrad, and I'm an international student. I'm looking at Kelvinhaugh Street or Winton Drive, as I'm not interested in paying more for en-suite as long as I have a separate toilet. What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks for any help!
I stayed in Kelvinhaugh street and it was ok. 5 per flat. lots of international people, not realy to social due to flat doors being locked. Clean, pretty modern, no problems. Nice (for student halls) kitchen with sitting room area. Free laundry downstaires, secure bike lock and free car parking (be warned if you move your car and try to park between 7am and 5pm, you wont get in due to local workers parking).

Be warned behind the flats is a helicopter pad for coastguard and police, and that goes off at all hours, and down the road is a firestation, and when that goes at 3am, you know about it.

Overall, my experience in KS was good, im afraid I knew no one in WD.

by the way what do you mean private toilet, i.e. one you just use and not share with anyone else, if so then this is what is en-suite accom in halls. In KS there is 1 toilet and 1 shower for the 5 in the flat.
oh BTW, its a great course. A great friend of mine did it, got a teaching assistent at Ohio state and now is doing a PhD at U.o Texas at Austin.

Nice choice for Glasgow

Thanks for the replies. I just realized too that the "private toilet" just means shared with others in the flat. Thanks for the update. I decided to put QM as my first choice to go with the en suite, but Kelvinhaugh and Winton are still my backup in case.

I'm glad to hear that it's a good course. I'm excited for it to start...although I'm not sure exactly what to expect. Oh well, here goes!

Well my mate all he did was play field hockey, read loads and loads and loads ofbooks, write essays, drink beer and never slept. I think thats more to do with him than the course.

I hope you enjoy Glasgow as much as I did.
